Benchmarking is the process of measuring key business metrics and practices and comparing them
to understand how and where the organization needs to change in order to improve performance.
Benchmarking provides the required insights to help you understand how your organization
compares with similar organizations. It can also help organizations to identify areas or processes
for improvements. The improvements may be incremental (continuous) or may also lead to
possible business process re-engineering.
The major challenges in a benchmarking exercise are to identify the Key Performance
Indicators (KPIs) and to analyse multiple outputs and multiple inputs simultaneously for
evaluating the performance. The programme will help the participantsto understand the commonly
used techniques for benchmarking and for business performance evaluation.

Pedagogy
The programme will be delivered through a mix of classroom lectures, case discussions, group
